I am glad to see the women and children separated from the tough men in the caravan. That way, they won't be available to be shoved to the front at the border.

They're not seen as the caravan, but they used the caravan to cross a couple national borders and almost got as far as the US border. They were just going to sneak across normally, or try to. As such, Trump's special anti-caravan measures (the ones we mostly associate with it, anyway) would not affect these people.

BTW also I think a later caravan may be stopped from crossing from Guatemala into Mexico, and another is to be stopped from crossing from El Salvador into Guatemala. So there's an international response under the covers here to prevent this from blowing out of control.
