Making out the co-woker was nuts, or whatever, is an opinion and not a lie. But really, it's just because the co-worker didn't agree with you advise as to strategy. And you wanted to be "above" or not lumped together with the "Q" supporter. So that's giving in to society pressure to turn on your friend. No matter how you might try to spin it.
