The 1st amendment prohibits censorship on the Internet or by any Internet service which is used by the Federal government to communicate with the people. This includes things like Twitter which is used by POTUS and by the OIG.
They just haven't thought this through yet, but people are starting to sue over censorship and as soon as it gets to the Supreme Court it will become clear.
I also expect the new Congress to come up with legislation to regulate Internet services that is designed to protect them from accidentally violating the 1st amendment. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Start thinking of ways to do that, for instance, should we have a law where they have to publish a notice of proposed censure 30 days in advance to allow the user to defend their rights? Having a law like that means that if a user is suddenly cut off, they can sue under a simple cut and dried law, and the judge orders them reconnected and fines the provider $10k for each count, plus costs, and another potential $10k damages to the subscriber.
