My takeaway: Clearly we have evaluated every aspect of the Border Patrol mission that could be offloaded to the military without violating posse comitatus. Joint planning has designated specific missions to military units: logistics, transportation, construction of command posts, physical barriers, etc. The U.S. military will augment the Border Patrol mission. General O'Shaunessey mentioned hardening the border at least 5 times.

This press conference filled in a lot of details and should increase confidence that Patriots Are In Control.
