Mexico and Guatemala not letting the next "caravan" cross from Guatemala. Trump seems to have made effective deals in the region to stop the caravans' progress.

The previous caravan probably slipped across on the Route 2 bridge just north of Tecun Uman / Ciudad Hidalgo. (which has never been mentioned in the news, but which I found quickly with Google maps.)

But now it seems someone is closing that option, likely Guatemala because that bridge is entirely within Guatemala (the border runs a few hundred feet in on the "Mexican" side of the river there. Hence we see people trying to form a human chain, and not being allowed to cross all the way anyway.

If they try to cross and force the gate on the bridge between the two towns, the one that has a gate across it, they are getting shot by Mexican police.

And recall from yesterday's news that the first caravan was stopped when they crossed from Chiapas state (border) into Oaxaca state (non-border) and I have not heard that they have made any further progress.
