Had a similar convo with my liberal dem mom also a boomer about 6 months ago:
Me: Mom you can't believe everything they say about President Trump they are only spinning it in a way that makes him look bad.
Mom: Well why would they say that if he didn't act like such a bully.
Me: Because they hate him and want to get rid of him.
Mom: Oh thats not true they're rust reporting the nonsense he always says.
Me: Mom that is not his entire comments, they cut and use what they want to make him look bad.
Mom: Why would they do that their reporters, their supposed to tell the truth.
Me: Because they hate him Mom and want to destroy and impeach him.
Mom: Thats not true he is a bully.
Last week:
Me: Mom why are you watching this news, you can't believe what they say and you know it.
Mom: I always watch the news at 6 oclock and I like to know what the weather is gonna be like.
Me: Just remember take everything with a grain of salt
Mom: I know, you can't believe anything politicians or Hollywood stars say anyway, its all nonsense.
