Xi Jinping orders commanders in the South China Sea to 'concentrate preparations' for war
Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered the Southern Theatre Command to prepare for war during an inspection last Thursday.
The command oversees the South China Sea, where tensions have been on the rise.
A Chinese destroyer confronted a US Navy warship conducting a freedom-of-navigation operation near the Spratly Islands at the end of September, nearly causing a collision.
According to the China Daily, Xi told troops they were “constantly working at the front line, and playing key roles in protecting national territorial sovereignty and maritime interests”.
“I hope you can fulfil such sacred and solemn missions.”
The powerful Chinese leader has made strengthening and modernising the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) a top priority.
As Xi delivered his speech in Guangdong province, Chinese Minister of Defence Wei Fenghe warned that China will not give up “one single piece” of its territorial holdings, adding that “challenges” to its sovereignty over Taiwan could lead China to use military force.
The US Navy recently sent two warships through the Taiwan Strait, a move that, like the US military’s frequent bomber overflights and freedom-of-navigation operations in the South China Sea, angered Beijing.
Tensions have been running particularly high in the South China Sea in recent months, with regular US B-52 bomber flights through the region and Chinese PLA Navy warships challenging American military ships and aircraft that venture too close to Chinese-occupied territories in the disputed waterway.
US Navy Adm. John Richardson, chief of naval operations, said Monday that the US Navy will continue to carry out freedom-of-navigation operations and challenge “illegitimate maritime claims.”

US to press patrols in disputed South China Sea, China warns 'meddlers'
MANILA, Philippines: An official says the US Navy will continue patrolling the disputed South China Sea after a Chinese destroyer came dangerously close to one of its ships during a "freedom of navigation" sail-by near a contested reef.
Admiral John Richardson, who heads US naval operations, said in a news conference with Philippine military officials in Manila on Monday that such patrols highlight the US position against "illegitimate maritime claims."
Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi said in a separate news conference that some "non-regional countries" are stirring up trouble in the disputed waters and "have been showing off their force."

India inks $950 million deal for Russian frigates
Russia has inked a $950 -million deal to supply two new warships to India that will be equipped with Brahmos missiles to add to the firepower of the Navy. The two frigates of the Project 11356 class will be bought directly from Russia and a contract to build two more at an Indian yard is likely to be signed at a later stage.
Sources told ET that while final clearances for the long-pending project came before the summit earlier this month between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the deal was signed last week after price negotiations.
Given that the US has implemented sanctions on weapons purchases from Moscow, India could make payments for the ships using the rupee-rouble route. The deal — under a ‘2+2’ scheme where technology will be transferred to an Indian shipyard to construct two of the friga ..

Craziness: Bomb Suspect Cesar Sayoc And Stormy Daniels Worked at the Same Strip Club
In a really strange turn of events, it has been discovered that bombing suspect Cesar Sayoc worked at Ultra Gentleman's Club in West Palm Beach, FL, the same strip club that Stormy Daniels performed at back in April, WPTV reported.
According to the club's manager, Stacey Saccal, Sayoc had worked as a DJ for the past two months. She had received no complaints about him from other staff members and he seemed like a "nice guy."
"I never knew that his van was covered in political stickers. I thought it was an ice cream truck," Saccal told WPTV, noting that he parked far from the club.
Saccal also said her employees had no idea that Sayoc was political. He never talked about politics at work and no one noticed the stickers on his van because of how far away he parked when he had a shift.
Fellow DJ Scott Migs said Sayoc brought two duffle bags and a cooler to work with him on Thursday night. He stashed them behind the DJ booth. Migs said he's unsure if any weapons were in the duffle bags.
Stormy Daniels performed at the same strip club back in April, which just so happened to coincide with President Donald Trump's visit. Interestingly enough, this strip club sits across the street from Trump's golf course.

Sen. Graham Says He Plans to Introduce Legislation to End Birthright Citizenship
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) announced plans Tuesday to introduce legislation to eliminate birthright citizenship following President Trump’s announcement that he plans to end it through executive order.
In a series of tweets, Graham praised President Trump’s comments in a recent interview with Axios that he believes he can end birthright citizenship and plans to do so. Sen. Graham announced that he will be introducing legislation “along the same lines” as Trump’s planned executive order.

Senator Bill Nelson Of Florida Compares U.S.Political Climate to Rwandan Genocide
Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) made an interesting comparison this week, suggesting the political climate in the U.S. is reaching Rwandan genocide levels.
Certainly, the America of the past two weeks has been defined by terror and tragedy. First, a hateful man sent a dozen pipe bombs to prominent Democrats and liberals. Then over the weekend an anti-Semite killed 11 people in a Jewish synagogue in Pittsburgh. Sen. Nelson said during a campaign stop that the suspicious mailings and the synagogue shooting reminds him of the Rwandan genocide.
"When a place gets so tribal that the two tribes won't have anything to do with each other … that jealousy turns into hate," Nelson said while campaigning at the Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Florida City, Florida. "And we saw what happened to the Hutus and the Tutsis in Rwanda, it turned into a genocide. A million-people hacked to death within a few months. And we have got to watch what's happening here."
Nelson is currently only +2 according to RCP which is withing the +/-4 statistical variation.
