Something I would like the anons to be well aware off.

I sent a physical check to two different companies. Handwritten checks.

I mistakenly mixed up the checks in the envelopes.

Both were written out to the appropriate companies. But both got the wrong check.

Difference of one was $200 and the other was $40.

I didn't know until I recieved a balance due from the company that I owed the $200 too.

I went to the bank to see what was up and that is when they realized that I mail each company the wrong check.

I call one company to explain and I asked why they cashed the check when it wasn't even written to them. They responded that they don't even look at the checks anymore. They just send them through electronically. The other company gave me the same response.

Last time I checked, it was illegal to cash someone else's check. I mean that's called fraud right?

They are doing it folks. Now imagine the implications of that expanded into other things. Like your paycheck, your rent, any bill for that matter. They don't have to look anymore.
