The original report said the tail rotor died prior to going down sure looks like something happened there.
Also he was about to lose his duty free monopoly in thailand airports in 2020 and was indicted for corruption charges there last year. (did a quick dig on that severeal days ago) Seems like there could be more to it than just a crash.
