What I find highly unusual and notable (personally, not necessarily baker notable) is the given # of troops - 5000 - coincides directly with the size of a Brigade Combat Team (BCT). A BCT is a self-contained, fully self-reliant combat force.
And the time frame that that BCT is being deployed in is within the Defense Readiness Brigade 1 (DRB1) deployment timeline.
Or, to put it plainly, the MSM is not covering the fact that a Combat force is being deployed, not simply logistics and support.
