Syria and Poland to enhance economic, trade relations

Chairman of Syrian-Polish parliamentary committee, MP Pavel Skutitsky said that his country has supported Syria in its war against terrorism and maintained its relations with Syria and didn’t close its embassy in Damascus.

He hoped that economic, trade and investment relations would develop between the two countries and the Polish companies would help rebuild the country.

Syrian citizens in occupied Golan stage a general strike in rejection of Judaizing practices of Israeli occupation

The strike also comes as a condemnation of the barbaric attacks on the Syrian people in Golan who prevented holding the “local councils elections” which the occupation authorities attempts to impose on the Syrians in Golan.

Israeli occupation forces had attacked the protesters in Golan with live rounds and gas grenades in an attempt to disperse them by force, injuring several protesters and causing the suffocation of many civilians, including elderly people, women, and children.

The reporter clarified that all schools in the aforementioned villages were closed and markets were shut all over the occupied Golan.

After Two Days Of Clashes, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham And National Front For Liberation Reach Reconciliation Agreement

On October 31, the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) reached a reconciliation agreement after two days of clashes in the southwestern Aleppo countryside.

The clashes began in the town of Kafr Hamrah, north of the city of Aleppo, when both groups attempted to establish military positions there. Later, the clashes spread into southwestern Aleppo after the assassinations of two field commanders of HTS, named “Abu Turab” and “Akram Khatab.”

Turkish Forces Clashing With YPG Near Kobani In Northern Syria, Casualties Reported

On October 31, the Turkish military artillery shelled positions of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) around the war torn city of Ayn Arab, known as Kobani, in northern Syria. We, as the Syrian Democratic Forces [SDF], emphasize that we have the right to retaliate against any attack on our lands and, if necessary, we will not refrain from exercising this right,” the YPG’s press release reads.The YPG and the PKK, which are considered the core of the US-backed SDF, are both recognized by the Turkish government as terrorist organizations. This has led to serious tensions between the U.S. and Turkey, especially that a large part of the Turkish-Syrian border is now under the SDF control.

SDF Halts Its Operation In Euphrates Valley Because Of Turkish Attacks On Kurdish Armed Groups In Northern Syria

“We inform the world, that the Turkish attacks in the north and ISIS attacks in the south against our troops had forced us to stop our current operation temporarily against ISIS in the last pocket of it, the ongoing Turkish attacks on our area will stop our battles against ISIS for long time and that what Turkey is calling for it,” the SDF said in an official statement. “We demand our partners in the International [US-led] Coalition to show a clear attitude and stop Turkey from launching attacks on the region and giving more chances to maintain ISIS and providing support for it,” the SDF added.

While the SDF claims that these attacks forced it to halt its military operation in the Euphrates Valley, local observers believe that this is only an excuse. Since the beginning of the operation in late September, the US-backed group has faced a series of setbacks. In the last two weeks, a wave of ISIS attacks killed more than 100 fighters of the group and forced it to withdraw from all the newly-capture areas.

Military Situation In Syria On October 31, 2018 (Map Update)

Sporadic firefights between the Turksih Armed Forces (TAF) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) near the northern Syria town of Tel Abyad. The YPG destroyed at least one Turkish military truck near the town.

Clashes between the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which mostly consist of YPG members, and ISIS are ongoing in the Hajin pocket area in the Euphrates Valley.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (f0rmerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) carried out a series of attacks on the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation in western Aleppo. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham captured the villages of Kafr Hamra and Awayjil.

Democrats far outpace Republicans in out-of-state funding by nearly 3 to 1

The Democratic Party has been far more successful than the GOP in convincing Americans to donate to federal Senate and House campaigns outside voters’ states for the 2018 midterm elections.

What are the details?

A story posted on the Center for Responsive Politics’ website, OpenSecrets.org, revealed that 60 percent of Democratic Senate candidates’ donations came from donors outside their home states. Less than half (49 percent) of donations to Republican Senate candidates were from out of state.

House Democrats also outpaced their GOP counterparts in out-of-state donations. Forty-five percent of House Democrats’ funds were from out-of-state donors, while 34 percent of GOP funds were.

But those percentages mask the total dollar out-of-state funding gap between the two parties. Democrats have pulled in nearly three times the level of out-of-state donations that Republicans have.

According to FEC data posted at OpenSecrets, House and Senate Democrats have raised $408 million for donors outside their home states. Republicans have raised $143 million.

Here’s how the totals break down by congressional body:

DEMOCRAT TOTAL: $408 million

● Senate Democrats: $129 million

● House Democrats: $189 million

REPUBLICAN TOTAL: $143 million

● Senate Republicans: $60 million

George Papadopoulos was on FOX and Friends last week in a stunning interview. After testifying in front of Congress, he found out additional information that he says leads him to believe that he was framed.

George Papadopoulos stated that based on new information that he has uncovered, he is now considering taking back his plea with the corrupt Mueller gang. Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and was charged with 14 days in jail as a result.

Papadopoulos testified to Congress last week and wants to share all that he knows about the Trump–Russia investigation and the Mueller witch hunt. Papadopoulos claims that he was set up by Joseph Mifsud, a Maltese professor, whom Papadopoulos worked with.

Earlier this week, Papadopoulos tweeted that he and Congress know who the spy was in the Trump campaign.

“While I cannot disclose the information publicly, it’s a fact that both me and congress know who the SPY within the campaign was. Congress will likely include it in a report later on. Eyes were everywhere during 2016,” Papadopoulos said.

Mark Zuckerberg Promises Facebook Will Crack Down on ‘Hate Speech’ Ahead of Midterm Elections

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated recently that the upcoming U.S. midterm elections will be “a real test” of the company’s ability to crack down on “hate speech” and misinformation.

The Hollywood Reporter stated in a recent article that Facebook will make its biggest increase in money spent to combat “hate speech” and misinformation on its platform this year, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg stated that despite Facebook’s increased expenditure, the company still won’t be as “dialed in as well as everyone would like us to be,” in relation to security and influence campaigns on the platform.

Zuckerberg stated that the upcoming midterm elections will be “a real test” of the newly implemented safeguards designed to protect the platform from “bad actors,” following reports of numerous foreign influence campaigns on the social media website. Zuckerberg said that during the upcoming election, the platform will see “all the good and bad that humanity can do,” but that the social media platform is getting better at hiding the “bad stuff” from users.

Zuckerberg stated that the social media firm will “never be perfect” at safeguarding users data — an issue that Facebook has had extensive problems with over the past year. The CEO stated that there is no “silver bullet” that would fix the issue of user data leaks.

Facebook’s most recent earnings report shows that company is facing issues with user growth over the last quarter in both the U.S. and Europe, the number of U.S. users has remained flat while the company has actually begun to lose users in Europe. Zuckerberg stated in an earnings call: “We may be close to saturated in developed countries.”

While the company’s daily active user count averaged out at around 1.49 billion in September, an increase 9% over last year’s results, the firm’s daily averages in the U.S. and Canada have remained flat at 185 million users since the first quarter of 2018. Daily active users in Europe declined from 279 million in the second quarter to 278 million in the third quarter. In the first quarter, Facebook boasted 282 million users in Europe.

Third Child Policy: Italian Populists Propose Giving Free Land to Families

Italy’s populist government has joined Hungary in funding measures to naturally maintain its population without mass migration by proposing giving parents farmland if they are expecting their third child.

The budgetary measures proposed Wednesday by Italy’s parliament aim to “make children and cultivate the land” by “promot[ing] the socio-economic development of rural areas and at the same time support the family,” reports La Stampa.

The programme would see families expecting their third (or second and third, in the case of twins) child be allocated a free, small, state-owned piece of farmland in southern Italy which has otherwise been abandoned or is uncultivated.

The budget would also allow for at least a 20 billion euro provision to allow parents to take out an interest-free loan of up to 200,000 euros to buy a nearby dwelling. The project is expected to be applicable for the third child born in 2019, 2020, 0r 2021 and is expected to run for 20 years.

There are exceptions to prevent abuse or oversubscription, including that it is only for Italian citizens or immigrants who have lived in the country for at least ten years, and is not available for families that already have three children or more as the measures are intended to grow the population, which has been steadily declining with birthrate well below replacement levels.

Euractiv reports that according to sources the policy was the brainchild of agriculture minister Gian Marco Centinaio and endorsed by regional affairs minister Erika Stefani and family affairs minister Lorenzo Fontana — all three members of deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini’s right-wing populist League party.

Mr Centinaio told Italian television, “It is said that in Italy there are few children and the provision provides help to reverse the trend.

“For this reason, the ministry wants to make a contribution by encouraging, in particular, the rural areas, where the children continue to born.”

The proposal rejects the received knowledge of progressive liberal northern European Union nations which state that the only way to stop the so-called demographic time bomb and maintain pensions payments is by institutionalising mass migration — a concept condemned as a Ponzi Scheme, as migrants themselves will grow old and need social care, not to mention the initial financial costs for social care for new arrivals and the social costs of rising crime and terror.

Mass migration alone now accounts for population growth in Germany and Sweden.

Peer-reviewed study looks at the differences between GMO corn and its natural, non-GMO counterpart

Proponents of bioengineering and the genetic modification of crops insist that these changes improve farming, make crops more resistant to pathogens, give them a longer shelf life and enhance their nutritional profiles. They even go so far as to say that genetic modification is the future of farming and will ensure food stability for generations to come.

Most of these modifications involve changing the structure of crops to enable them to tolerate spraying with herbicides and insecticides. Over 180 million hectares of genetically modified (GM) crops are currently being cultivated around the world, 80 percent of which have been modified to tolerate the application of glyphosate-based herbicides like Monsanto’s Roundup.

Roundup Ready 2 – or NK603 – is a type of corn genetically engineered to withstand spraying with Roundup, and has been sold commercially in the United States since 2001. Very vague and superficial testing of GM foods and crops by regulatory authorities in the United States found this type of GM corn to be “substantially equivalent” to real, unmodified corn types. However, more in-depth testing by researchers in other parts of the world has revealed massive differences between NK603 and non-GM corn.

A peer-reviewed study published in the journal Scientific Reports, conducted by researchers from King’s College London, found that “NK603 and its isogenic control are not substantially equivalent.”

Prominent Psychiatrist tells CNN Why Antidepressants Are So Dangerous

When one of the world’s leading psychiatrist issues such a severe warning about antidepressants, we should probably listen. In 1994 Dr. Allen Francis chaired the committee that assembled the DSM-IV, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, which is sometimes referred to as the bible of mental health.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Dr. Francis addresses the very real problem with antidepressant addiction, which is something that is just now being understood by the public. He first notes that it is a different type of addiction than what we would normally associate with substance abuse.

Well they’re not really addictive in the sense that benzodiazepines are addictive, or cocaine or alcohol. They don’t cause the same degree of functional impairment when you’re taking them, but they definitely do have a withdrawal syndrome, and that withdrawal syndrome traps people. It’s so easy to start an antidepressant and sometimes so very difficult to stop it. ~Dr. Allen Francis

It’s worth noting that in the DSM-IV from the early ’90s, there is a reference that suggests that antidepressants are included among the psychiatric drugs which may lead to substance abuse issues, but it took nearly 25 years for this information to enter into the conversation about antidepressants.

Well, it’s a deeply held secret. There’s almost no research on the withdrawal syndrome. There’s absolutely no interest on the part of the pharmaceutical companies in advertising the fact that getting on an antidepressant may trap you for years and maybe for life. So they’ve discouraged research, they don’t report adverse findings. The pharmaceutical industry is only marginally less ruthless than the drug cartels, and it’s not in their interest to advertise this, so there’s been very little research, and we really don’t know how the long-term use of these medications may affect the brain. We’re doing a kind of public health experiment on hundreds of millions of people around the world without really understanding the long-term effects.

When asked by Amanpour how difficult it is for a normal person to get a prescription for antidepressants, Allen replies:

There’s nothing easier in the world than starting an antidepressant. Primary care doctors are given far too little time with their patients, and the only way they can get a patient out of the office satisfied, after a seven minute visit is to write a prescription. Eighty percent of the antidepressants are prescribed by primary care doctors, usually after seven minutes, under heavy pressure from both the patient and from the drug company… On the other hand, stopping the medicine can take years. ~ Dr. Francis Allen

IOWA: Church covered up priest’s abuse of 50 boys

A Roman Catholic diocese acknowledged Wednesday that it concealed for decades a priest’s admission that he sexually abused dozens of Iowa boys — a silence that may have put other children in danger.

The Rev. Jerome Coyle, now 85, was stripped of his parish assignments in the 1980s but never defrocked. And it was not until this week, after The Associated Press inquired about him, that he was publicly identified by the church as an admitted pedophile, even though the Diocese of Sioux City had been aware of his conduct for 32 years.

The diocese recently helped Coyle move into a retirement home in Fort Dodge, Iowa, without informing administrators at the Catholic school across the street.

In 1986, Coyle reported his “history of sexual attraction to and contact with boys” to Sioux City’s bishop, revealing that he had victimized approximately 50 youngsters over a 20-year period while serving in several Iowa parishes , according to a private letter written in February by the diocese vicar general and obtained by the AP.

The diocese told the AP on Wednesday that it never contacted police or informed the public after Coyle’s admission.

“The diocese admits it could have been handled better,” diocese spokeswoman Susan O’Brien said. But she said the policies in place at the time did not call for notifying police or the public.
