How's about some "equal protection under the law" for states whose demographic is big cities dominating state policy. Just a few counties in all of the west coast states overwhelm the rest of the state with liberal policy that is entirely at odds with the culture and values of most of the (non city) residents.
An electoral college system for states is long overdue.
