Just my first impressions on a quick reading the “Watergate Roadmap” document.

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/5025374-Road-Map.html

Today’s surveillance and coverup crimes committed by Obama and Clinton et al seem to be very similar in concept, but not in scale, to Watergate. It seems to be a roadmap of how to escape consequences for crimes. If Nixon “got away” using this roadmap, following some of the same methods O&C should have limited risk. Two most obvious plays are

Use non-government communications to justify deleting evidence (pages 37-39)

If discovered, try to limit damage to campaign staff (pages 54-55)

It seems that the primary weakness of the watergate roadmap was that investigators and opposition party were not fully compromised. O&C made sure to stack the CIA, FBI, and DOJ in their favor, as well as compromising or blackmailing key swamp Republicans who would either interfere with ongoing investigations. But then Trump happened.
