It gets worse if you own a farm. In Canada they started something called the Agricultural Land Reserve in 1970s, which stole the value from farms. They said it was to save farmland but it’s a lie. I’ve had a farm in my family for 80 years and the government has played every shady trick to steal it. They forced residential taxes on my Dad when he got cancer so I was forced to pay what I could to save it. It’s 1/5 of size it was before the Agricultural Land Reserve. It’s simply misappropriation of property AKA theft.
