I flew out of "Awful AFB, Ohmygod, Nebraska. I'd say that bird is on a training flight. We called the "Ravens" Crows. Flew tail number 121 the hognose, there was a pink stuffed pig on board, the mascot that all crews signed. Good times.
We'd do training flights all over the heartland. Front end crews would practice refueling, back-end crews would familiarize with equipment. All of our operational missions were flown outside of CONUS, no exceptions.
We would get tankers out of Barksdale AFB, Shreveport.
If you knew the nature of what RC-135s do, you'd know that they don't do domestic operational missions, unless hostile foreign aircraft are attacking CONUS. Please tell me that you, a civilian, aren't expecting that.
