They don't just drill you on the question pool but also teach some theory so you will begin to understand what you're studying.
The technician (entry-level) exam is fairly easy. Some people pass it by memorizing the question pool. Some local ham radio clubs set up a class where you spend 1 Saturday studying the technician question pool and a little bit of theory, then immediately take (and pass) the technician exam the same day while it's fresh in your mind.
This website would be especially helpful for someone taking the General or Extra exam where you really need to master some electronics and radio theory.
There are also many free websites that simply drill you on the question pool.
Give a holler if you have any questions.
