National Security Advisor John Bolton gave a speech naming and denouncing the Troika of Tyranny in our hemisphere — Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. Bolton gave the speech in Miami, where the Miami Herald’s Franco Ordoñez wrote it up in a page-one story. Referring to the leaders of these leftist kleptocracies, Bolton called disparaged them as “clowns” and poured on the abuse: “These tyrants fancy themselves strongmen and revolutionaries, icon and luminaries. In reality they are clownish, pitiful figures more akin to Larry, Curly and Moe. The ‘Three Stooges’ of socialism are true believers, but they worship a false God.”
The stooges of of socialism are not to be confused with the alleged stages of capitalism set forth by Karl Marx. The highest stooge of socialism is probably to be found in the United States among various contenders for the crown in the Democratic Party.
Gone for the moment at least are the days of President Obama’s abasement of the United States before the stooges of socialism around the world. Bolton told the Herald that the United States will impose new sanctions on Cuba because it hasn’t followed through with commitments made to Obama to improve democracy and human rights. “Its performance toward democracy and human rights is worse,” he said.

Chinese scientists plan to build the world's most powerful electron collider by 2030, a project that will cost 35 billion yuan ($5.5 billion), the project's leading scientist told The Global Times on Monday.
The conceptual design for the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) passed international examinations in September, Wang said.
The collider will provide light at a million electron-volt power level, creating the most advanced conditions for research on new materials and nuclear physics, Wang explained.
Scientists from the US, Europe and Japan have participated in designing the project, will work on the building process and conduct research with the collider, Wang said.

Kentucky Among 19 States Whose Data Are Listed On The Dark Web
According to a recent report, Kentucky remains one of the 19 states whose voter records have been displayed on the Dark web forum for sale. Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky Secretary of State has quickly reacted to the incident by partnering with the Department of the Homeland Security and other relevant agencies to investigate the case. In her report, she emphasized that the protection of elections and Kentucky citizens’ voter records was her top priority. She also expressed her concern that releasing information to the public domain will underscore the efforts of the cybersecurity agents.
A credible source recently reported that over 35 million voter records of America citizens had been spotted on the online black market. The exposed records belong to citizens across nearly half of the country including Kentucky. They then ran a check on the validity of the data, and it turned out that the data was valid and highly confidential. According to the report, the vendor sold the voter records as low as $150 and as high as $12,500.
Another report indicates that the price attached to each voter record depends on the state. The voter records of Kentucky are being sold for $2,000, while those of Wisconsin are being sold for $12,500.
This incident raised the alarm because things can get worse when the data gets into the hands of criminals. The report stated that the vendor obtained 23 million voter records from just three states. The other states, according to the researchers include “Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.”
As claimed by the Anomalies lab researchers and Intel 471, a vendor was spotted on October 5, 2018 advertising tens of millions of the acquired voter records on the forum. The data includes the names, phone numbers, physical addresses and voting histories of the victims. Also, some of the suspects purchased the database to distribute them to participants who take part in an ongoing crowdfunding project on the Dark Web. Another criminal promised to give out the acquired voter data to each registered member of a hacking forum on the platform. The report revealed that the data of Kansas had been acquired and published. Another crowdfunding project was underway which sought to purchase the database of another state for the contributors. According to the researchers, the group members voted for the data of Oregon to be acquired and published once the crowdfunding goal was reached.

For instance, an end user of a computing device, such as a desktop, laptop, mobile device, etc., usually has to provide user credentials to be able to access an online banking service account to execute an online transaction via the banking service. User credentials can be in the form of a user identifier, a personal identification number (PIN), a password, etc. Enhanced authentication techniques can offer higher levels of security, yet may influence a user’s experience. For instance, multi-factor authentication require an end user to provide two or more authentication factors via more than a single device before being able to access various services and information, which can be relatively cumbersome to end users.
A recently published patent proposed an innovative method for enhancing authentication of transaction systems via means of dark web analytics. Monitoring systems can be specifically configured to search the dark web for information which indicates a potential risk to a party offering various forms of payment transaction services for successfully authenticated users or devices. The search can rely on search parameters associated with the brand of the entity, (e.g. trademark, business name, etc.), organizational purposes (financial institution, banking, brokerage firm, etc.), and/or potential risks (e.g. phishing of accounts’ sensitive information, theft of funds or money, etc.).
Analytics are applied to the data obtained by the monitoring system, and the obtained data (e.g. trend data, summarized data, threat level, etc.) is fed to a transaction system. Thereafter, the transaction system coordinates with an analytics system to monitor and evaluate the received data, in order to determine the entity’s potential risks. When dark web analytics are implemented, chatter (or information volume) corresponding to the entity can be evaluated on the basis of one or multiple thresholds, and a threat level for possible attacks targeting the entity can be adjusted according to the evaluation. Whenever a threat level rises to a certain level, addition authentication requirements can be deployed before the transaction is permitted to be completed. Once the threat level has been lowered again, then normal security levels are re-established.
