There is a lot of this going around. Perhaps it is time to have a Bible study free from the influence of the church that lost it's first love by deifying Mary, welcomed the doctrine of Balaam by compromising with government and flesh, allowed the Judaisers to bring Jewish ritual into the church, and became the Nicolaitans (conquerors of the laity).
When the world turns upside down, remember, we don't belong here. Keep your eyes on Jesus; He's still in charge.
Maybe it is a good time to challenge popular beliefs. Consider Rev 1.1
Re 1:1 ¶ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, - who is is about, anon? Jesus
which God gave unto him - Who was it given to? it was given to HIM (not John). When was it given to him? Before or after the cross? After the cross he had picked up his glory and was omniscient. He could not receive revelation. It was given to him before the cross telling him about HIM so that he knew who he was and what he was supposed to do.
to shew unto his servants - before the cross he was always teaching his disciples…
things which must shortly come to pass; - before the cross he was teaching about the cross. He taught them, and they forgot what he taught them.
and he sent and signified [it] by his angel [messenger] - So Jesus sent the the Holy Spirit to remind them of the things he had taught them (of the cross). Joh 14:26
unto his servant John: - and John was reminded of the things Jesus taught him before the cross, of the cross, and recorded them.
The Book is about the cross. It is not about Russia or China or Israel. Forget modern impositions on the book. No matter what you see that looks like anti-Christs or beasts, or red heifers, there will never be an acceptable animal sacrifice.
The OT sacrifices were promises of grace through the cross. Any animal sacrifice now would be an abomination denying the cross.
The Book of Revelation is a book concerning the cross written in the riddles of the Old Testament. Don't look for signs or wonders or beasts or marks or sacrifices. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
In the Old Testament, the historical events pointed forward to the cross in prophetic riddle. Now historical events point backward to the cross. No matter what how much events look like the comic book version of Revelation, Revelation is about the cross. Revelation is not intended to tell your future. It always speaks of the cross. True prophets speak of the cross, they are not fortune tellers. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
You will need to remember this soon.
