Vice President Pence maintained in an interview with Hill.TV on Friday that Republicans will keep control of the House in next week's midterm elections.

"I think we're going to expand our majority in the United States Senate, and I think we're going to hold our Republican majority in the House of Representatives," Pence told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton.

Supreme Court allows trial in census case to proceed

The Supreme Court late Friday refused the Trump administration’s request to postpone a trial in lawsuits challenging its decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

The court rejected the administration's request without explanation. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch, of the high court’s conservative wing, said they would have granted the application.

The government had asked the court to delay the trial until it resolves a dispute about whether Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and another high-ranking administration official can be questioned under oath.

The trial, which is scheduled to start Monday, stems from a lawsuit 17-blue leaning states and a handful of cities brought against the administration. The case was consolidated with a separate challenge brought by immigrant rights groups.

University of St. Thomas removes 'It's OK to be white' poster

The sign, which was similar to others posted at other colleges, appeared a day after a campuswide forum on bias.

On the heels of a daylong campuswide discussion on racism, University of St. Thomas officials removed a flier Thursday saying, “It’s OK to be white.”

The single poster, found taped to a city-owned electrical box on the southeast corner of Cretin and Summit Avenues, was similar to those found Wednesday night at Tufts University in Massachusetts and those posted on college campuses across the country last Halloween.

NYT: What Happened to Lindsey Graham? He’s Become a Conservative ‘Rock Star’

Senator Lindsey Graham’s bipartisan overtures — on immigration, foreign policy, even investigations of President Trump — once made him a darling of Democrats, a Republican dealmaker to be wooed to the center.

But when the South Carolina Republican turned up in this St. Louis suburb to campaign against a Democratic colleague, Claire McCaskill, the crowd of Trump-loving women and red-hatted men practically swooned, bathing in the reflected glow of the president they adore — who now adores Lindsey Graham.

Mr. Graham, crisscrossing the country to turn out the Republican vote against the centrist Democratic senators who were once his natural allies, lapped it up. He has been basking in the exaltation of Trump backers ever since his lacerating defense of Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh. His own transformation from Trump-basher to Trump defender seems complete.

“I stepped up,” he boasted in an interview, “and I’m getting rewarded for it by conservatives, and liberals are all upset.”
