Here’s a question for y’all. Since we’ve been talking about who is a qualified voter at various points, I would like to consider problem that some perfectly qualified citizens have run into when they try to register, namely how to provide a physical address when they don’t have a postal compliant physical address. A friend had posted an article about how some Native Americans feel disenfranchised because they live so far out in the boonies that they don’t have a street and number to give to tribal officials when they go in to get an ID, and so they put a P.O. box on it. I told my friend that the answer was simple. The reason that a physical address must be provided is so that the jurisdiction can locate that address on a map and determine which voting precinct the citizen resides in, and that is a valid reason to request it. But they don’t need a street name and number for that. They can do it with a latitude and longitude. I’m guessing that 4 decimal places should do it. So if these tribes want to give their people proper IDs that actually say where a person lives, they need to get out there with a Garmin or other satellite connected navigator and determine the coordinates. Then they can put that on the ID on the line above the P.O. box. And voilá! They have a physical address without having to go through a hassle to get a street and number assigned. And they should be able to register to vote with that. No citizen should be disenfranchised of their voting rights unnecessarily.
I think I know why they're doing it. They're trying to create a legal conundrum for us. I'm curious where the law stands on that, by the way. The purpose of the board has never been that, but shills keep polluting the place with porn. Are we responsible for potentially illegal crap posted by the shills? I've voiced opinions on porn posts before, and what seemed like regulars shot them down.
