Former Obama Campaign Volunteer Arrested For Scrawling ‘Kill all Jews’ In NY Synagogue
A synagogue in Brooklyn canceled an event Thursday night after “Kill all Jews” and other anti-Semitic statements were found written in a stairwell.
Police have made an arrest after disturbing messages of hate were found inside a Brooklyn synagogue Thursday evening, the latest in a string of anti-Semitic incidents across the nation.
26-year-old James Polite is charged with four counts of criminal mischief as a hate crime and making graffiti.
Polite has been sent to Woodhull Hospital for psychiatric observation, authorities say.
He is also charged with a string of arson fires in Williamsburg, including one at a yeshiva and another at a Jewish banquet hall.
Some further research by ILMF staff revealed that James Polite was a former Obama Campaign volunteer. Despite this revelation most news organizations decided to leave this key information out of their headlines and most stories related to the arrest.
Proof of Polite’s relationship with the Obama campaign and the Democratic party was obtained from a 2013 article written Sara Sugar and Alex Wolf of the Huffington Post detailing his passion for politics.
In the article which states Polite was ostracized by his family for being gay, and kicked out of his Brooklyn home at age 13, it was also identified that then City Council Speaker Christine Quinn (pictured below,) offered him an opportunity to intern in her office.
