Government delegation inspects projects in Aleppo eastern countryside

The government delegation inspected the rehabilitation process of Jibreen granary center which is the main storage center for grain in Aleppo province with a storage capacity of 185,000 tons at a cost of SYP 800 million, also inspecting the rehabilitation work in Aleppo power transformer station.

The delegation also inspected Tal Alam pumping station in al-Sfeira area, which contains eight pumps, supplying 1,000 hectares of agricultural land with irrigation water.

The delegation visited the seed cleaning center and inspected work at it, which is to be put into service in 2019 at a cost of SYP 1.8 billion.

With most ISIS forces believed to be operating in the desert in eastern Syria, Iraq is facing growing concern that they’ll eventually, in the face of US-backed offensives, cross into Iraqi territory and try to set up shop again. All told that’s nearly 30,000 fighters loyal to the Iraqi government heading to the Syrian border, in an attempt to keep ISIS from crossing in. Given the size of the border, however, it’s not clear how well they will be able to prevent cross-overs, if ISIS decides to.

The US-led coalition on Saturday launched a new aggression on the Syrian territories under the pretext of combating Daesh, bombarding residential buildings in Hajin city in Deir Ezzor province, killing and wounding dozens of civilians.

Three Nebraska Farmers Plead Guilty in Massive Multi-Million Dollar Organic Fraud Scheme

Millions of people gladly pay premium prices for organic food every day, a growing trend based on the need to avoid carcinogenic chemicals in our food like Monsanto and Bayer’s Roundup.

But despite the newfound faith and investment in organic food, fraudulent growers and sellers remain a major problem, especially with profits so high in the organic food business these days.

Over 100 cases of cases of alleged organic food fraud have been reported by the USDA since 2011, and the latest such case involves three Nebraska farmers, one alleged mastermind from the Show Me State of Missouri, and a mysterious third party who helped make it all possible.

It’s Exhibit A as to why it’s absolutely crucial to “know your organic farmer,” these days, and why the importance of supporting those who do things the right way cannot be understated.

Farmers Plead Guilty to Organic Fraud Scheme Netting Nearly $3 Million in Profits

According to a report in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, three Nebraska farmers were charged as part of a scheme to pass off regular corn and soybeans as organic, transferring the grains to an Ossian, Iowa company that then falsely marketed them that way, authorities say.

The three farmers, Tom Brennan, 70, his son James Brennan, 40, and Michael Potter, 41, were each charged with one count of wire fraud on Wednesday, October 10, and plead guilty according to a report in the Omaha World-Herald.

The farmers “convinced themselves to look the other way” according to an Associated Press report on the story, while a Missouri businessman named Randy Constant allegedly masterminded the scheme, which was allegedly designed to circumvent the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program.

The farmers kept receiving higher prices for their non-organic crops, even though they knew they were being taken from non-organic fields where they applied pesticides and nitrogen, according to the Lincoln Journal-Star.

Their attorney believes they were taken for a ride by Mr. Constant, lured into a trap they were unable to extricate themselves from.

“It’s an old story. These are good, otherwise law-abiding people who were lured into one of these situations where if it’s too good to be true, you know it can’t be true,” their attorney Clarence Mock told the AP. “Obviously there were serious misjudgments here on the part of the defendants. But their conduct could be characterized as going along for a ride in a vehicle that was driven by Mr. Constant.”

The Hungarian government rejects the United Nations’ comprehensive pact on migration; it has left the negotiating table and will not consider its implementation binding, should it be accepted at the December meeting of UN heads of states and governments in Morocco, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in a letter on Friday.

In his letter sent to the head of the UN General Assembly, the secretary general of the UN’s migration agency and other top officials, Szijjarto said that Hungary does not support “population exchange between continents” for concerns that “it will lead to the formation of parallel societies and an increased threat of terrorism”.

Next to Hungary, the US and Austria have already abandoned talks on the package, and the Czech Republic is mulling to the same, the minister’s letter noted.

Migration should be “stopped and not organised”, and help should be provided at the root of the problem, enabling people to live as close to their homelands as possible, and return home at the earliest possible time, the letter said.

At the UN General Assembly in New York in September, Szijjarto said Hungary insists that the international community respect the sovereignty of individual states as well as their right to prioritise the security of their own peoples. He said the UN pact exclusively supported the interests and prosperity of migrants.

Instead, it should be addressing the fundamental rights of those who want to live their lives in safety and peace, he added.

Refugee columnist of Huffington Post accused of sexually assaulting 6 women in Germany

Aras Bacho born in 1998 working for both HuffPost and Vice is now accused of sexual harassment and sexual assault of several women and girls. His trial is set to begin on the 23rd of November at the court in Lemgo.

He is accused of six cases in total stretching back from November until December 2017 as well as March, Junge Freiheit reports. Five are said to have happened at the vocational school in Lemgo and one on a bus. His accusers are three of his female classmates.

He allegedly groped the breasts of one of the girls and another’s buttocks multiple times while walking past her. Apparently Bacho was already notorious at the school for allegedly showing pornographic movies on his phone to classmates.

His Twitter account and Facebook fanpage have both disappeared shortly before the deadline provided to him by Junge Freiheit before publishing the article on him.

Who is Aras Bacho?

Aras Bacho, infamous for some questionable opinions, denies all allegations. He had previously tweeted and later deleted that women are to be blamed for the sexual assaults, which took place on New Year’s Eve in Cologne because they were alone but that refugees also needed to behave themselves.

The recent allegations would certainly explain the opinions expressed in the deleted tweet.

Other opinion pieces by him told angry Germans to leave the country, donate their money to refugees and provide them with smart phones. It doesn’t end there though, this exemplarily refugee often used by the left to fight against “racism” also believes holidaying in the country you fled is normal and is an avid supporter of Merkel and would have voted for her.

Aras Bacho was used multiple times after any sort of attack by refugees or foreigners. He often bashed the AfD for “racism and incitement” against foreign nationals. He also wrote articles why refugees should be allowed to vote, why Germany should stop deporting refugees including those from Eritrea and they should be safe there.

Well it is exactly that safety, which his accusers were apparently lacking from him not being able to keep his hands to himself. Aras Bacho mentioned he would not leave Germany before and that it is now his home. If these allegations, and we have no reason to doubt them, turn out to be true, let’s hope that Germany proves him wrong and sends him back to Syria where he belongs!

Jeff Bezos Puts The Pentagon On His Monopoly Board

While employees at Google and Microsoft are wary of collaborating with the military, Amazon revels in it…

Speaking at the Wired 25th anniversary last month month, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced that his company will continue to accept Pentagon contracts. That includes a very controversial cloud-computing contract that Google and Microsoft have already backed out of due to vocal employee opposition to working with the U.S. military.

Amazon was long considered the front-runner for this contract, but Bezos’s rationale for taking it goes well beyond its being low-hanging fruit. He’s argued that the government’s job is to “make the right decision, even when it’s unpopular,” and that large tech companies should support those decisions irrespective of politics.

The $10 billion tied to the contract can’t hurt either. Whatever his motivation for sucking it up and taking one for team tech, Bezos’s public justification is a poor one, and it isn’t hard to see why. The Pentagon has a long history of immoral and reckless behavior, actions that objectively aren’t beneficial to the defense of the United States. Any company that blindly works with them does so at its own peril.

Employees at Google and Microsoft have already made a powerful case for why tech giants shouldn’t collaborate with the Defense Department. They don’t want to be responsible for developing technology that causes substantial harm, surveils others in violation of international norms, or contravenes human rights. The Pentagon can be counted on to do all three, and more.

Furthermore, the Pentagon’s growing interest in artificial intelligence (A.I.), particularly as it relates to warfighting, sounds out of the preamble for a dystopian novel. Hence why Google employees forced their company not to renew a controversial Pentagon contract in June involving A.I. While Amazon will be signing on to cloud computing, not A.I., it’s still more than a little concerning that Bezos was so adamant about the virtues of the DoD. (For what it’s worth, Amazon already works with the CIA.)

But Amazon has an interest that extends far beyond this single deal. The real prize is to become the military’s sole procurement source for off-the-shelf components. Disdainfully labeled Amazon.mil by critics, this initiative is a result of a congressional mandate that the Pentagon shift procurement to a single online marketplace.

The mandate is supposed to save the Pentagon money when buying run-of-the-mill items like bottled water. It would also give Amazon, the presumptive facilitator, a virtual monopoly on selling a vast array of items to a government department with nearly limitless money that’s notorious for overpaying for things.

Amazon is one of very few online companies that could even claim to provide this sort of service. In eagerly contracting with the Pentagon elsewhere, Bezos is laying the groundwork for this much bigger relationship.

Yet being the Pentagon’s friendly partner could come with potential costs. Bezos is setting Amazon up as an amoral alternative to the other major technology companies. When a Pentagon project breaks bad and the public starts asking how all this could have happened, the answer will be Amazon.

A recent test case for this was the NSA’s surveillance of the American public. Intended to be done entirely in secret, when it was revealed that the major telecoms were complicit, even though they were effectively forced by secret court orders to cooperate, their reputations suffered a hit. Customers began asking whether their privacy was safe with AT&T or Verizon.

Amazon’s complicity may still be under the radar, but it is all the riskier now that Bezos has publicly defended working with the Pentagon on matters others wanted nothing to do with. His quote about senior leadership making “the right decisions” could easily become the soundbite for a story about government excess going unchallenged by the private sector.

Bezos tries to paint this with a broad brush by contending that major companies must not walk away from the U.S. government over politics. Yet the consequences of Pentagon projects are potentially far-reaching, and large American companies cannot succor themselves with the rationale that they’re only following orders.

Amazon is going down a risky path. They say that if you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas, and Amazon has made a conscious decision to climb into bed with some of the Pentagon’s most flea-bitten projects. If it wakes up in a mess, let’s make sure no one claims they didn’t see it coming.

Pacific Archipelago to Vote on Formal Autonomy From France

In a not-so-densely populated maritime area, as many as 174,000 registered voters will answer a single referendum question: to leave or to stay aligned to France.

Voters in the South Pacific archipelago of New Caledonia will decide on Sunday if the French territory should split from the European country, which has claimed sovereignty over the region since the middle of the 19th century.

The referendum is a milestone event, along the lines of the archipelago's decolonization, and is expected to define New Caledonia's future status as either an independent country or an extension of France.

New Caledonia, a cluster of islands, is home to about 270,000 people, of whom 174,000 are registered voters that have been invited to answer one simple question: "Do you want New Caledonia to gain full sovereignty and become independent?"

According to opinion polls and previous election results, a majority of the voters in the sparsely-populated chain of islands favors remaining a part of France.

The island cluster of New Caledonia, comprising primarily ethnic Kanaks — people of European origins and others from Asian countries — relies heavily on France for defense, law enforcement, foreign affairs, justice and education. Yet, it is granted a large degree of autonomy by Paris.

New Caledonia receives some 1.3 billion euros ($1.5 billion) in French state subsidies every year, and many are worried about a potential economic crunch if long-standing economic and political ties are severed, according to Fox News.

Snake Slithers Out of Israel's Western Wall, Sparks Biblical Prophecy Fears

An indigenous coin-marked snake has interrupted prayers at Israel’s Western Wall, causing panic at the holy site.

A serpent slithering out from between the ancient stones of Israel's Western Wall and chasing a pigeon has sparked fears that it was a harbinger of the Messiah.

To the applause of worshipers, a man ascended a ladder to catch the coin-marked snake, which is native to Israel and other Middle Eastern countries.

The reptile's Jerusalem appearance prompted speculation among some website and social media users, who made references to biblical prophecies.

A Hebrew-language site, Sod1820, pointed out to the fact that Israel is sometimes referred to as a dove in literature, and suggested that the symbol of a pigeon fleeing a snake proved that the Jews were living in “dangerous times.”

“We are truly in the dangerous times that directly precede Mashiach [Messiah], as the pigeon is safe so long as it seeks shelter among the stones of the Temple Mount, the Jews are protected by the Torah commandments. When the pigeon comes out from the stones or the Jews move away from the Torah, they are in danger.”

The same site also reportedly cited The Zohar, the basis of Jewish mystical thought, Kabbalah, as explaining that the “evil inclination, personified by the snake in Eden, will make a resurgence in the days before Messiah.”

The snake was not the first incident there this year: back in July, a huge stone dislodged from the wall and nearly fell on a woman praying below.

He told Media Masters podcast: "There are other people out there. there are two particular high-profile individuals that I know about who I'm convinced are sex offenders.

"I've brought that attention to the police. I know when one of those people died the floodgates will open.

"This concept of the untouchable still exists. Jimmy Savile put himself in a position where he was untouchable and there are still individuals who fall into that place."

Jimmy Savile presented the original Top of the Pops in 1964, and preyed on and assaulted his victims from his dressing room.

Hundreds of victims came forward to give their account of what happened.

Some victims said they were abused when the entertainer visited schools and even in hospitals and children's homes while he carried out his so-called 'charity work'.
