Iranians have held rallies across the country to mark the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US embassy in Tehran.

Demonstrators in Tehran gathered on Sunday outside the former US diplomatic mission, also known as the “Den of Espionage,” chanting slogans against the United States.

Similar rallies were held in more than 1,000 cities and towns across the vast country, with participants chanting "Death to the US”, "Death to Israel”, and "Hayhat minna az-zilla” (Never to Humiliation).

A Russian-made MiG-29 fighter plane, belonging to the Egyptian Air Force (EAF), has crashed during a training flight in Egypt, with reports saying that the pilot has managed to eject and is currently in good condition.

The news comes a month after another MiG-29 fighter jet crashed in a forest near the Russian capital Moscow during a training flight due to an unknown reason.

The MiG-29 (NATO reporting name "Fulcrum") is a fourth generation Russian multipurpose fighter, developed by the design bureau MiG.
