We have historical manuscripts of the Bible in the original languages going back long enough to tell it hasn't been altered. The Qur'an, on the other hand.. Muslim sources (e.g. the hadith) contain information that not all of the original Qur'an verses were preserved, even shortly after Muhammad. If an effort like this were to show the truth, it would show that this is the case.
