I'm surprised that any idolization of Guido "Guy" Fawkes has not been argued against here.

From what I understand, Fawkes was a mercenary who plotted with other mercenaries and priests to blow up buildings and kill hundreds of people. The plot was foiled, there was no explosion, and Fawkes was arrested & hanged.

Interesting that the "V for Vendetta" story ends with Parliament being blown up and thousands of citizens marching with Guy Fawkes masks. (I liked "The Matrix" but what happened to the Wachowski trannies, and whose agenda do they serve now?)

Funny that the writer of the comic book that the movie is based on "declined to watch the film and asked not to be credited or paid royalties."

Interesting that the "socialist community movement" known as Anonymous, famous for wearing Guy Fawkes masks, were supporters of the global Occupy movement and the Arab Spring uprisings.
