"Supposedly" being the operative word. Without a paper receipt of the cancellation, impossible to verify.

Plus, as you noted, who knows how many times that particular machine will do that today?

If those faulty votes are not cancelled for some reason, they cancel out the human voters and artificially inflate the vote totals.
