DIG ON WalkOutToVote, con’t.

Last night, an anon copies a small article on a group call WalkOuttoVote, that encourages students to walk out of class to vote at 10 am local time. So they aren’t just encourages young people to vote, they’re encouraging them to dramatically walk out of class, even if they are in high school and too young to actually vote. Initial dig revealed that they are part of a growing coalition of youth groups dedicated to promoting radical solutions to social problems.

This dig below shows the genesis of WalkOutToVote, which was non-existent until Oct. 3, 2018. We know which group started it–@FutureCoalition, itself a new group—but that’s all. This is their “first project,” but I doubt it will be the last. (One of the groups in this coalition, @MarchforOurLives, is funded by people like S Speilberg, George Clooney & Oprah.)

Twitter Search:

# WalkOuttoVote seemed like it appeared out of nowhere. So I just did a Twitter dig and found the following:

2014: It first appears as a Twitter topic.

June 2018: Lynne Griffin tweeted “Wouldn’t it be awesome if on election day in November every registered voter walked out of work or school to #VoteForOurLives? #WalkOutToVote.”

Oct 3 2018: @FutureCoalition announces “our first initiative #WalkOutToVote: We’re a coalition made up of: @AMarch4OurLives @Turnout_Tuesday @schoolwalkoutUS @50milesmore.” They are almost immediately joined by a raft of other radical youth groups, e.g., @STSNational @BeBraveChicago @moco4change @Team_Enough @ThisIsZeroHour, and others mentioned in the earlier digs (there are now 25). This suggests that #WalkOutToVote may be a “front group” with @Future Coalition as the public mouthpiece.

Oct 5 2018: David Hogg endorses #WalkOutToVote “To end gun violence -End family separation -Elect men that believe victims of sexual assault. -Save our environment -End mass incarceration -To save our generation when our elected officials won't.”

Oct 14: Ron Howard endorses #WalkOutToVote.

Late Oct – Nov 6: #WalkOutToVote suddenly picks up a LOT of stem, getting multiple endorsements from much more influential sources such as Snoop Dogg, Hillary Clinton, & BlackLivesMatter and MoveOn.

QUESTIONS:

Who funds this group?

Who is behind (and funds) the many other new radical youth groups?

What role do the schools play in allowing/supporting this walkout?

Most of my friends are liberals (they don't realize the liberals have become socialists yet). I am always courteous to them despite the fact they hate Trump. Or used to–one of them sees the homeless all over our blue city now and I think she wonders what's going on (Agenda 21); the other saw her niece go off to any ivyleague school where they spent a week or so on heavy-duty indoctrination. Then she came home and went to a "teacher training" where everyone was told the reason students don't learn is because of them, their WHITE PRIVILEGE. She wasn't too pleased.

So when they finally see the light, I'm the last person who would denigrate them for it.
