Also, Back in the 70/80's there were threats of guns in schools. I have no idea how prevalent it was because we did not have near the amount of new coverage, but we "did" have school security like having to pass through metal detectors in the "metro" schools. I lived in a small town, so we didn't have the threat at all, but the metro schools did have metal detectors. they don't have these in school today? Someone in a big city like Chicago, NYC, LA could let us know if they do. Hmm, wonder if they do not do this like they did back then because they are not interested in "protecting" the kids like they used to.
