Agree with this anon. My first thought upon waking up (after a fitful night of sleep) is that maybe with this relatively minor - and wholly expected - consolation prize, the crazy left will take a breath. Really, they are in a box…their hard left base wants and will demand impeachment. But the Kavanaugh circus has taught them that such antics will energize the conservative base for 2020, plus the Senate would kill it anyway. Watch for Trump to extend an olive branch, and they will have no choice but to hesitantly accept it…which will enrage the bloodthirsty fringe of their base and demoralize the middle core.
