Trump didn’t lose the House.
Rather, the GOPe/CoC wing of the Republican Party underwent a mass purging, leaving the GOP more solidly behind Trump than it ever was before.
The losses included wimps like Chris Curbelo, Barbara Comstock, and Mia Love. And it’s highly unlikely that the 40 GOP retirements weren’t all RINO squishes in the Paul Ryan mold. After all, if I was pro-Trump and a House Republican, I’d want to do all I could to help him, rather than bow out like Jeff Flake or Bob Corker in the Senate.
Even some Democrats are grumbling that the GOP losing a bunch of squishes actually makes their jobs harder in 2020, that the House losses removed Trump’s enemies within his own party.
