My take on this is that Goodlatte and Gowdy had enough evidence to take (((them))) down, but chose to delay to allow Q team to take the senate. However, because they are patriots and the Dumocrats now control the house, if they had stayed on, life would have gotten very difficult for them. Instead, they sacrificed their own careers and the opportunity to serve justice with their own hands to allow the plan to play out.
