The Democrats have consistently made this complaint about Trump's appointments. When he appoints someone to an agency to right-size the agency, they complain that the head of the agency is supposed to advocate FOR all the stuff that agency is doing.

Which is ridiculous. Who hasn't had a hostile boss in the private sector? Government should have more hostile bosses, not less, because it doesn't face market discipline.

Now they say Whitaker can't supervise Rosenstein and Mueller because he's critical of them. No, he's exactly the right guy to supervise them! We need government to have internal struggles, so we can be free. (Rather than the other way around.)
