What would a species capable of interstellar travel want with a low-tier species like ourselves? We have nothing to offer to someone with technologies far exceeding our own.
Even then, a species that advanced would likely follow the same developmental patterns as we have and simply use drones to probe, extract, and refine the resources they intend to utilize. In addition, their technologies would undoubtedly ascribe to them the ability to engage with us in a manner which will not reveal them, their true intentions, or any long list of things or information they don't wish to reveal to us without careful measure.
