California fag reporting on the Borderline Bar and Grill shootings. When I first heard the report about this on a local radio station, there were two witness interviews of note.
First, a young man who was inside at the start of the shootings said the following (excerpts):
He was about ten feet away from the door the shooter entered. He for some reason noticed him right away. The perp threw a smoke bomb in before he began shooting. He said at first it sounded like a cap gun firing, then people began panicking. He and his friend Tim grabbed the two girls with them and after hiding behind a wall, broke a window out with a chair, and they all escaped, but not before his friend was hit. He also said he called 911 at the start of the shootings, but that it took a really long time for deputies to arrive. (Of course factor on that in times like that, a minute may seem like ten.)
The other interview was with a Capt. with the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept. His version was that the deputies first arrived within three minutes of the multiple 911 calls of a shooting there. Talked about the Highway Patrolman and Sheriff's deputy who entered the bar on'y to be immediately shot by the gunman. He indicated that maybe half a dozen people were shot,, but had no information in what was still an "active shooter" situation.
Another thing of note. The FBI arrived very fast. (Maybe because they were already there for this FF?)
Anyway, take from it what you will. Surprised when I heard the intiial assessment of about six wounded changed eventully to twelve killed, not counting the gunman!
