UPDATE: Antifa Mob Vandalized Tucker Carlson’s Home, Car, Driveway, Door – Police Investigating as Suspected Hate Crime

The Antifa mob that swarmed Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s home on Wednesday evening reportedly vandalized his home and car — and the incident is now being investigated as a suspected “hate crime.”

According to the police report obtained by the Daily Caller Foundation, an anarchy symbol was spray painted on Carlson’s driveway. His oak door was also broken by the militant leftists. Carlson was not home at the time of the incident, but his wife was there alone. She hid in the pantry in fear as the mob banged on her door shouting threats. Luckily, their four children were not at home.

“Someone started throwing himself against the front door and actually cracked the front door,” Carlson told The Washington Post.

The group of approximately 20 people was chanting, “Tucker Carlson we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!”

Tens of Thousands Flee Fast-Moving California Wildfire

A raging wildfire in Northern California has forced the 27,000 residents of the city of Paradise to flee. Dramatic footage shows flames closing in around the highways out of town and thick smoke hanging in the sky, obscuring the horizon.

Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea called it a "very dangerous and serious situation," AP reports, and noted that some residents have been forced to abandon their vehicles to escape the conflagration.

Paradise sits in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, near the larger town of Chico and about 75 miles north of the state capital of Sacramento. However, on Thursday the place is very far from paradise: a rapidly growing wildfire encompassing 6,000 acres is closing in on the town, forcing its residents to drop everything and evacuate, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Residents fleeing their town recorded dramatic footage capturing the anxiety of their situation and the horror of the raging inferno consuming the world they knew. As such, many of the videos included here contain graphic language.

Massachusetts voters overwhelming agree to keep pro-transgender bathroom, locker room laws

Massachusetts voters approved a measure to uphold a law that prohibits discrimination based on gender identity in public spaces, including bathrooms and locker rooms.

On Tuesday, nearly 68 percent voted “yes” on Question 3, which upheld Senate Bill 2407, the pro-transgender law that went into effect in October 2016. The state is considered to be one of the most LGBT-friendly states in the nation.

Under the law, anyone who attempts to stop any man who identifies as a woman from entering women’s facilities could result in penalties of up to $50,000 and a year in prison, Debby Dugan of Keep MA Safe wrote as part of the argument for repealing Senate Bill 2407.

What did supporters of Question 3 say?

Transgender activist and actress Lavene Cox, known for her role in the Netflix series, “Orange is the New Black,” was among those who campaigned for a “yes” vote.

“Thank you Massachusetts. So much love and respect for you! #YesOn3,” Cox tweeted Tuesday after its approval.

Many feared that transgenders protections might be rolled back. Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of national LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD, said the decision was a huge relief to activists across the nation.

“Voters in Massachusetts made history tonight and sent a clear message that transgender rights are human rights,” GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said in a statement. “The personal stories of so many transgender people in Massachusetts coupled with support from allies in business, faith communities, sports, and so many areas of the state, shattered stereotypes and sparked this historic show of acceptance.”

What did opponents say?

Opponents who have worked to repeal the 2016 law since it was passed were disappointed in the outcome of the vote that they believe puts women and children at risk of predators.

“We are deeply disappointed that the people of Massachusetts will continue to be forced to sacrifice their privacy and safety in the name of political correctness,” Andrew Beckwith of Keep MA Safe told the AP. “Our commitment to defending the fundamental rights to privacy and safety, particularly for women and children, will not change. We will move forward, developing other strategies to protect the rights of those who are negatively affected by this law.”

Police Previously Met With “Irate, Irrational” SoCal Mass-Shooter, But Cleared Him

The suspect in a California mass shooting has been identified as a Marine Corps veteran who had previous run-ins with police for being unstable.

Thousand Oaks, CA — (RT) The gunman who shot and killed 12 people in a California bar, popular for live country music and packed with college students, has been identified as an Afghanistan war veteran serving in the Marine Corps, Ian David Long.

The 28-year old suspect entered the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California on Wednesday night before opening fire with a Glock 21 .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun – a popular model model in California – and reportedly throwing smoke bombs.

Twelve victims died, including a security guard outside the bar and a sheriff’s deputy who was among the first to respond to the shooting. Long was also found dead at the scene, with preliminary investigations indicating that he took his own life before SWAT team members stormed the building.

The bar is a popular hot spot for college students, with many attending the weekly college country music night hosted at the venue.

Little other information is known about Long, with police currently waiting on a warrant in order to search his house, where he is said to live with his mother.

Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean confirmed that Long was a veteran and that he had served with the United States Marine Corps.

Long joined the Marines in 2008 and rose to the rank of corporal before leaving active service in 2013, Joseph Butterfield, a Marine spokesman, told Reuters. He served in the war in Afghanistan for seven months, beginning in late 2010, and was awarded multiple ribbons, commendations, and medals.

Sheriff Dean added that while Long’s firearm was legally purchased in Ventura County, Long used an illegal extended magazine clip in order to carry more ammunition. The exact number of rounds used in the attack is still being investigated. Some witnesses reported that Long used a smoke device as he went on a shooting rampage, but the sheriff said no evidence of this has been found so far.

The law enforcement had several interactions with Long, the most recent in April of this year with police responding to a disturbance of the peace call at his residence.

Describing him as “somewhat irate,” and “acting a little irrationally” at the time, Dean said a mental health team was called to assess Long’s mental health, but he was cleared and no further action was taken.

Previous incidents had included a minor traffic collision and in 2015, Long was the victim of battery in another bar in Thousand Oaks.

Pa. high school installs first-ever AI security system that detects weapons, notifies police

A Pennsylvania high school has added an extra layer of security by installing an artificial intelligence system that can detect a gun and notify police in mere seconds.

The Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster became the first school in the world to add the Athena Security device to its existing system, KYW-TV reported.

The system, developed by Texas-based Athena, uses motion and image detecting technology.

Athena co-founders Chris Ciabarra and Lisa Falzone developed the technology in an effort to prevent school shootings.

“There have been a lot of advancements in artificial intelligence and so basically what we do is use object and motion detection to recognize when someone pulls out a gun and alert on that,” Falzone told KYW.

How does it work?

The camera can detect the image of a gun as well as dangerous movements including someone pulling out a gun, hands going up in the air, or someone being punched, according to the Athena website.

Once danger has been detected, the camera captures a video of the incident, along with its exact location, which is sent to police and school officials within three seconds.

“So not just recording crime but proactively preventing crime,” Falzone said.

What else?

The technology was installed at the school about a month ago.

“This is just another layer it’s more being proactive than reactive I hope we never have to use it,” Zimmaro said.

Athena is also working on developing software that uses radar to detect concealed weapons.

Rick Scott statement on Democrat election fraud: "Let's be clear: When Elias says 'win' he means 'steal'"

Nelson, Scott spar as Florida Senate race nears hand recount

Florida Sen. Bill Nelson (D) and Gov. Rick Scott (R) sparred on Thursday amid continued uncertainty over the results of their closely watched Senate race, with Nelson insisting that a recount was all but inevitable.

As of Thursday morning, Nelson and Scott were separated by roughly 22,000 votes — about 0.26 percent. In Florida, a machine recount is automatically triggered if the candidates are within 0.5 points of one another, while a hand recount is required if the margin is 0.25 percent or less.

Nelson has not conceded the race. As a recount appeared increasingly likely on Wednesday, the three-term Democrat retained Marc Elias, a prominent lawyer who has represented Democrats in a number of election fights, to work for his campaign.

Elias said Thursday that he is confident Nelson will gain votes in a recount — enough to hand him another term in the Senate. He pointed to how drastically Scott’s lead has closed in the two days since Election Day, insisting ongoing canvassing by county election supervisors would play out in Nelsons favor.

“I’m confident that Sen. Nelson and the Democrats are going to do well in terms of vote share in the days to come, because when, at the end of the day, all eligible have their votes counted and counted accurately, the fundamental truth that we’re going to learn is that more voters voted for Sen. Nelson than Gov. Scott,” Elias told reporters on a conference call.

Elias raised concerns that in Broward County, near Miami, there had been more votes cast for down-ballot candidates than in the Senate race at the top of the ticket — a phenomenon called undervoting.

It’s not unusual for voters to mark their ballots for candidates for some offices and not others. But what is unusual, Elias said, is for undervoting to take place at the top of the ticket.

The lawyer said that he believes a hand recount will show that a number of ballots initially scanned by machines were not read properly due to stray markings or calibration issues, and that Nelson will likely gain votes from those ballots.

Scott’s campaign blasted the efforts on Thursday, issuing a statement accusing Nelson of trying to “steal” the election by pursuing a recount.

“It is sad and embarrassing that Bill Nelson would resort to these low tactics after the voters have clearly spoken,” his campaign said.

The ongoing Senate fight exemplifies Florida’s status as the nation’s largest and most volatile battleground state, where elections are often — and almost reliably — decided by ultra-slim margins.

In the race for Florida governor, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D) on Thursday also opened the door to a possible recount two days after he conceded the race to former Rep. Ron DeSantis (R).

Gillum's communications director, Johanna Cervone, said that new votes totals showed a closer race than when Gillum conceded on Tuesday.

“Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported,” she said in a statement. “Our campaign, along with our attorney Barry Richard, is monitoring the situation closely and is ready for any outcome, including a state-mandated recount.”

The CIA’s Latest Greatest Failure

Government agencies that are skilled at invading nearly everyone’s privacy worldwide are sometimes totally inept at keeping their own internal communications secure. The problem is particularly acute for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which must maintain secure contact with thousands of foreign agents scattered all over the world. By secure contact one means being able to provide specific targeting to the agents and received in return detailed information that responds to what is being sought without any third party being able to intercept or interpret what is being shared.

Communicating is the most vulnerable element in any foreign agent operation, particularly as counter-intelligence services commit major resources to cracking the systems used to link an agent in the field with his case officer or handler, who might be in the same country under diplomatic cover but just as easily might be in another nearby country or halfway around the world.

Various media reports have lately been detailing a catastrophic communications security failure by CIA that took place between 2007 and 2013. In simple terms, what took place was this: the Agency developed a method of covertly communicating with its agents through the internet that involved sites which enabled two way communications that were believed to be both secure and efficient. It presumably operated like social media sites where you have to log in, provide a password and then are able to send and receive messages. It almost certainly had some level of encryption built into it and there may have been several layers of passwords and/or questions that the user had to answer to gain access.

Once developed, the system, which was originally intended only for occasional low-level use, was then deployed to handle nearly all the CIA’s agent communications worldwide, including a number of key countries targeted by Washington, to include Iran and China. Each country had a separate site and the sites themselves were set up under innocuous business or social cover arrangements which presumably would have made them of no interest to prowling counterintelligence services.
