New fire in California. Ventura. Fireman friend told me it is spreading very, very fast and will likely make it down to the beach. Too hot and fast to control.
BTW James Woods is twittering out to the people of Butte helpful advice for evacuation. They are not trying to put that fire out. Too hot, just trying to get all the trapped people out.
Brown is a complete nut. Newsom will be even worse. This climate change stuff affects my daily life and not in a good way.
There is a huge homeless problem in Butte Co. That could be a transient fire. However, there are also arsonists picked up where I live from time to time, before they succeed. I don't know Ventura very well, but homeless people live in camps all over the hills of California. And they make campfires. PG and E got sued, though, so they just cleared out all the brush where I live and checked all the power lines. Pretty impressive operation. The smoke here today is incredible. Never seen it that bad before and I am not near Butte, at all.
