Gov. Rick Scott: Palm Beach County Is Illegally Preventing Party Officials Inside Ballot Counting Room — Have Produced 15,000 Additional Ballots Since Tuesday

Governor Rick Scott from Florida held a press conference tonight to discuss the ongoing ballot production operation in Palm Beach and Broward counties in Florida.

Broward County, notorious for voter fraud, continues to produce ballots and votes for Democrats two days after the election.

Marco Rubio warned about the election fraud in these two Democrat counties earlier today.

On Thursday night Governor Scott commanded the state police to immediately investigate the Democrat ballot generation operations.

Via Rick Scott:

** In Palm Beach County they have discovered 15,000 new ballots after election day!

** There may be rapid fraud happening in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

** Palm Beach County is refusing to provide information to the public.

** Palm Beach County is illegally refusing to allow party representatives into the ballot counting area and forcing to make people stand behind a glass wall.

More Broward County Shenanigans: US Senate Gets 24,000 Fewer Votes Than Governor

Florida is once again bracing for recounts–this time there are no ‘hanging chads,’ but Democrat lawyers are descending on the State to steal the election.

Broward County and Palm Beach County in Florida, both Democrat strongholds are still counting ballots 43 hours after the polls closed and Senator Marco Rubio is blaming elections supervisor Brenda Snipes.

Earlier Thursday, Senator Rubio said Broward County and Palm Beach County refused to disclose how many ballots they have left to count.

Something strange is happening in Broward County, says Politico reporter Marc Caputo.

The US Senate candidates in Florida received 24,000 fewer votes than the Gubernatorial candidates.

How is this possible? (We know the answer already)

Via the Sun-Sentinel:

Meanwhile, questions continued about why more than 24,000 people voted for governor but not for Senate in Broward.

On Thursday afternoon, the latest tally in the governor’s race had the two candidates separated by 0.47 percent. In the Senate race, there was 0.22 percent difference.

Politico reporter Marc Caputo said he’s never seen a top-of-the-ticket Senate race get fewer votes than every other statewide election.

“Something very strange happened in Broward County. I’ve never seen a top-of-the-ticket U.S. Senate race get fewer votes than EVERY OTHER statewide election.

So more voters wanted to weigh in on governor AND attorney general AND state CFO AND agriculture commissioner?” Marc Caputo said in a tweet with a graphic showing the number of votes.

Marc Elias, Lawyer Tied to Clinton Campaign & ‘Pee Dossier,’ Leads Dems’ Florida Recount Efforts

Marc Elias, the attorney who infamously retained Fusion GPS to produce the largely discredited anti-Trump dossier on behalf of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, has been retained to represent Sen. Bill Nelson’s recount efforts in Florida.

The Florida Senate race is likely headed to a recount after late reporting from Broward County lowered Gov. Rick Scott’s lead to about 17,000 votes, meaning the election is within the .25% margin necessary to require a hand recount. The race has already reached the 0.5 percent threshold to require a machine recount.

In a conference call with reporters, Elias claimed that optical-scan machines may not have registered ballots that were poorly marked, and he contended that Nelson would emerge victorious from a recount, which has not yet been officially authorized.

“We believe that at the end of this process, Sen. Nelson is going to be declared the winner,” Elias said.

Elias added: “We’re doing this not just because it’s automatic, but we’re doing it to win. A significant number of ballots have not yet been counted and, because of the size of Florida, we believe the results of the election are unknown and require a recount.”

Elias is widely considered one of the most powerful attorneys associated with the Democratic Party. He is chair of the Political Law Group at the Perkins Coie law firm. Elias represented Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign as well as the Democratic National Committee. He was brought in by Nelson’s campaign to oversee official recount efforts.

Last year, the Washington Post reported that in April 2016, Elias and his law firm Perkins Coie retained Fusion GPS to conduct the firm’s anti-Trump work on behalf of both Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the DNC. The work resulted in the publication of the dossier authored by former British spy Christopher Steele.

Through Perkins Coie, Clinton’s campaign and the DNC continued to fund Fusion GPS until October 2016, days before Election Day, the Post reported.

While it is not clear how much the Clinton campaign or the DNC paid Fusion GPS, the UK Independent, citing campaign finance records, reported that the Clinton campaign doled out $5.6 million to Perkins Coie from June 2015 to December 2016.

Records show that since November 2015, the DNC paid the law firm $3.6 million in “legal and compliance consulting.”

Steele reportedly met with the FBI on July 5, 2016 to report his purported findings about Trump and Russia. The Steele dossier was reportedly utilized by the FBI in part to conduct its probe into Trump over the unsubstantiated Russia collusion claims.

According to House Intelligence Committee documents, the questionable dossier was also used by Obama administration officials to obtain a FISA warrant to conduct surveillance on Carter Page, who briefly served as a volunteer foreign policy adviser to Trump’s campaign. The political origins of the dossier and issues relating to Steele’s credibility as a source were kept from the FISA court, a House Republican memo documents.

Besides its role in sending funds to Fusion GPS, Perkins Coie also reportedly helped draft the outside firm CrowdStrike to aid with the DNC’s allegedly hacked servers.

CrowdStrike is the third-party company ultimately relied upon by the FBI to make its assessment about alleged Russian hacking into the DNC. The DNC reportedly did not allow the FBI to gain access to servers that were suspected of being hacked, instead coming to an arrangement with the federal agency in which CrowdStrike carried out forensics on the servers and shared details with the FBI.

In Florida, meanwhile, Republican Ron DeSantis, the former Congressman who won the gubernatorial election, is now within the .5% threshold required for a machine recount.

Opponent Andrew Gillum has not officially asked for a recount and that effort is considered a longshot, but Gillum’s campaign on Thursday hinted at challenging the ballot counting.

“On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count. Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported,” stated Gillum’s communications director, Johanna Cervone. “Mayor Gillum started his campaign for the people, and we are committed to ensuring every single vote in Florida is counted.”

BREAKING: Voter Fraud Allegedly Found In Deep Blue Florida County

Over 100 provisional ballots were rejected in Miami-Dade County on Thursday after election officials said that those people showed up to vote a second time in the same election, according to a local media reporter.

The news comes as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) claimed earlier in the day that the Democrats and Florida election officials with questionable records were trying to "steal" the election in Broward County, which is just north of Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade County is one of the bluest counties in the state of Florida, as nearly two-thirds of the county voted for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

"Stream of aggressive red stamping at Miami-Dade canvassing board as panel rejects provisional ballots from 108 people who showed up to vote a second time in the same election," Miami Herald reporter Doug Hanks said.

Hanks added in a subsequent tweet: "Miami-Dade lawyer tells me provisional ballots from people who tried to vote twice do get referred to prosecutors. But voter has to be shown with criminal intent to face charges.

The news comes after Rubio cast serious doubts about actions by election officials in Broward County on Thursday, noting the questionable past of Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes.

"#Broward election supervisors ongoing violation of #Florida law requiring timely reporting isn’t just annoying incompetence," Rubio wrote on Twitter on Thursday. "It has opened the door for lawyers to come here & try to steal a seat in the U.S. Senate & Florida Cabinet."

How So Many Bad Ideas Manage To Win On Election Day

Every other year, the run-up to election day reminds me of an irony about the “wonders of democracy” rhetoric that peaks then - that is also when the misrepresentations poured into voters’ ears, undermining the likelihood of achieving those wonders, also peak.

The reason is well-captured by a quote from Jonathan Swift, in 1710: “Falsehood flies, and the truth comes limping after it.” At the last minute, lies, damned lies and statistics, not to mention unsupported claims, rumors, innuendo, etc., can have their greatest power, because there is not time for serious thought, research, and effective rebuttal before voters must cast what will therefore be far more misinformed ballots.

What struck me most as an example this year was “Rent control could spur more building,” by Gary Painter, in the Los Angeles Times (10/31). It was written in favor of California’s Proposition 10, which would have re-enabled majority-renter communities to vote themselves large benefits from others’ pockets by imposing new rent control laws (currently banned by state law).

While many studies have shown that rent control reduces construction, Painter offered an alternate theory to convince voters who oppose rent control for that reason. The core of his argument, which he intimated was a standard Econ 101 lesson (despite over 90% of economists expressing disagreement with his conclusion), was:

Price controls can actually spur an increase in supply. When housing developers have too much power in the market, they can maximize profits by raising rents on the apartments they already own. But if rent control limits that option, developers have to go to Plan B if they want to make more money: Build more units.

Recount Live Blog: Gov. Rick Scott is suing Broward County election official as his Senate lead shrinks

9:00 — Rick Scott filed suit against Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes over the county's delay in completing its count of the votes from the midterm election. Scott sued as a candidate for the U.S. Senate, not in his capacity as governor of Florida.

Scott followed up by lashing out at Snipes in an extraordinary press conference at the Governor's Mansion on Thursday night.

Broward County lags the rest of the state in completing the first, crucial phases of counting ballots from Tuesday's midterm election. As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the same time the governor summoned reporters to the mansion, Broward County was the only one of the state's 67 counties that had not reported to the state that it had completed its tabulation of early votes. Early voting ended Sunday in Broward.

Read the full recap of Scott's press conference here.

8:55 — Republican House Speaker-designate Jose R. Oliva today released the following statement:

" I fully support and commend the Governor for directing FDLE to investigate. The power of the vote is only as strong as the trust in the count. With each new ballot 'found' that trust erodes."

8: 46 — Andrew Gillum tweets his response to Rick Scott's lawsuit.

8:34 — Sen. Bill Nelson responded to Gov. Rick Scott's late-night announcement through a statement from his spokesman Dan McLaughlin.

"The goal here is to see that all the votes in Florida are counted and counted accurately. Rick Scott's action appears to be politically motivated and borne out of desperation."

8:31 — "I am proud to be the next Senator for the great state of Florida," Rick Scott said.

Scott ends the press conference without taking any questions.

8:30 — "Some believe this is simply rank incompetence. That is certainly true," Rick Scott said. But it would be naive to think they are overruling the will of the voters, he adds.

Scott is asking for law enforcement to investigate immediately and he will use every legal options necessary, he said.

8:29 — Rick Scott now giving the career of Sen. Bill Nelson's hired lawyer, Marc Elias, a veteran recount attorney. Scott said he's trying to "steal the election." Scott said they're "mysteriously finding more votes."

8:27 — Rick Scott: "We have just filed a lawsuit."

"I will not sit idly by while unethical liberals try to steal this election."

It sounds like Scott is suing both Palm Beach and Broward counties. So far only the Broward lawsuit is available.
