Yes, it did have to be done, I think so too.

And so I extend this philosophy to the Biblical stories as well.

I'm not sure about Transhumanism, because I haven't really looked into it, but working to improve yourself as much as possible sounds like a decent goal.

Speaking as someone who has been let down by a biological body many times,

something like this does interest me, even as just a thought exercise.

But it is fraught with issues (MOB chip as mentioned), etc.

 

I guess there are three paths.

  1. Full human, with machine ally - Interstellar

  2. Part human/Part machine - GITS

  3. Full Machine

 

It's definitely unnatural.

But do we have a future in the stars otherwise?

We're probably a decade or two too early to have enough knowledge to know.

Worth keeping an eye on though.

Would also like to see how effective genetic engineering could be as well. Maybe we can do everything organically.

That's true.

I think the underlying guiding principle should be to find the path of quickest advancement without giving up our humanity.

It will be a hot topic of debate in the future, I'm sure.
