A large factor in this is that people KNOW in the heart, mind & gut who is right and who is wrong. Did security myself for a long time & can definitively state from empirical experience that when it gets face to face & ugly, the perp will puff out the chest, hurl insults & threats for the benefit of those watching, but THEN will almost always walk away. And it is the issue of who is right and who is wrong that causes it, without it being said.
