The entire city of Malibu has NEVER been ordered to evacuate. Regional canyon and neighborhood evacuations, yes, but never the entire Malibu coast region with over 25 miles of beachfront.
If you look at a satellite map image of the Malibu coast, Babs lives on the very tip of Point Dume overlooking the ocean. It would have to be an extremely strong wind driven event to have Point Dume evacuated, protected as it is by the coast highway, a natural fire break.
Yes, most people, in general, are good. Malibu? Los Angeles? High percentage of the very people causinge so much suffering to the good people. The warrior spirit in me is fanning the flames toward those who deserve their lives ruined.
