This is gonna sound crazy, but due to dog having low platelet count (verge of needing transfusion), went digging for iron (Fe) count in dog food. Well guess what… There is virtually no iron in any dog food or cat food, for that matter. Called dog food companies and asked, "If you are putting real food in the dog food, why is there no iron in it?" And they had no answer as to why. This could only mean that they are extracting it from the food. Is Fe, iron, what they are after in these hot springs? You need iron to make platelets, red blood cells.

Blue Buffalo, not cheap. Had discussion with vet about this a while back and started making my own supplement to add. Lab platelet count shot up to 373K (normal is 200k-600K). Prior bad count was down to 49K!

Ironically, Milkbone dog biscuits just started listing iron. Haven't seen anything else yet.

It's a great time to buy a turkey at 29 cents/lb to cook and debone. Usually add chicken livers, macaroni or rice, peas, carrots. Keep it in fridge for week. If too much, can always freeze some.
