are there grounds for a "do-over"? it would seem that once a deadline is missed, anything else is not valid. hence the deadline. and criminal prosecution up to and including treason for those who did not do their job. this is supposed to be a serious undertaking, with serious consequences for unlawful or negligent acts.
but then, i think Hatch & McConnell should be on the end of a rope for Reconstruction level obstruction with a SCOTUS appointment. nothing against Gorsuch or Final Jeopardy answer Merrick Garland.
