Sad but true. I would call on other parents to take a stand and end this when they see it happening to their kids. However this means leading by example. Technology should be a tool not a pacifier. The kids with basic interpersonal skills will be the winners in the future, the ones who are simply not afraid to interact with other humans. I hope we haven’t gone past the tipping point though.
Totally agree. Quick story. Looking at the Free to be You and Me record/movie with adult eyes now, I completely see what they were trying to do. Even as a child I thought it odd- a boy with a doll? Mommies who work outside the home? As a 5 yr old kid i didn’t know what “programming” was but my child brain felt that they were pushing something. What was wrong with a mother raising children? Etc etc.
