I know Butte County like the palm of my hand. Lived through many droughts there and some big earthquakes. Born and raised there. Worked and lived in Chico for many years. Totally a conservative County. Lived through several droughts and never saw firestorms like what has happened for the last couple years. There is definitely fuckery going on. The people of Paradise had really only one way out via the “skyway”. A four lane exit to Chico. Two other routes out exist. One a dirt round and another road that heads into a canyon. One lane each way and lots of wind backs, basically a paved stagecoach road. They were literally trapped. I am sick and in mourning for those that were lost and those that have lost everything they had. People need to hang from the many branches of the old oak trees in the valley if they are responsible for this.
