I'd like to think we're above Alinskyโ€“at least some parts of it, others are okโ€“but these have been posted here before, and the comments on ridicule were very popular with someone who wrote a manifesto on why we should use ridicule as a weapon.

 

I disagreed, because I don't think that's what we do. Ridicule will corrupt those who use it; irony or satire are different. Rather like the difference between CNN & Trump: CNN is mean-spirited so they sometimes act like bullies while Trump, while blunt, is not. And he's a helluva lot more compelling.

 

What is objectionable is that Alinsky is all tactics, no principles. Kind of like the DEM party today.
