Putin talked to Netanyahu in Paris: Ifax cites Kremlin
PARIS (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Sunday, Interfax news agency cited Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.
The leaders, who attended Armistice commemorations in the French capital, met for the first time since the shooting down of a Russian surveillance plane in Syria in September.
The downing by Syrian anti-aircraft fire, after Israeli jets attacked a suspected Iranian arms shipment to Syria, caused a diplomatic rift between Israel and Russia. Moscow blamed Israel for the incident.
