If you know someone is going to commit forgery in advance…there are a hundred, maybe more, ways to set them up.
Think physical documents, optical properties, chemical tracers, radioactive signatures, nano particles, hidden sensors, cameras, mics, GPS trackers, trips, beacons, etc… I won't get into specifics, but if good guys knew the bad guys would be doing something wrong and had a warrant and resources, catching the bad guys becomes trivial. It's the foreknowledge and warrants that are the hard part…and placing the surveillance assets, but that gets sorted out by capable professionals.
They're ROYALLY screwed.
