That may be, but if so then ALL the tripcodes on PF would flash or none of them would. There is no tripcode inconsistency between the placeholders and the other PF posts.
Just a reminder that edits of existing PF posts don't show up with auto-refresh, nor do they get alerted via the Q apps. The archive sites eventually capture the new edited posts and overwrite the old ones, but there's no easy way to spot them unless you're actively looking for changes.
