Trust law is key to everything. A corporation is a special form of trust. Berness K. "Bunny" Speakman had a thoughtful interpretation of the Declaration of Independence as having created these united States as a religious trust, because that tiny slice of sovereignty granted by the King could only be transferred through a trust in part because of the unknown number of future heirs and successors (see the Statute of Uses and the Statue of Charities).
There's also the "cestui que trust," which is one of the friction points with adhesion contracts.
