I'm going to make a bold prediction that Trey Gowdy is going to be the next AG. I know that publicly he has stated that he doesn't want the job, but Paul Ryan also said the same thing of being Speaker of the House.

I'm basing my prediction off of the fact that Gowdy voted "present" on a House bill to keep the House’s Russia investigation going when every other Republican voted "no". Why would he do such a thing? Because it gives him credibility with the democrats when he is scrutinized after having been offered the job. Right now Schumer is calling for Whitaker to recuse himself because of negative statements he has made in the past about the Russia probe. When Gowdy is scrutinized they won't be able to claim he is biased. It makes perfect sense. The plan was made a long time ago. Team Q has really thought this through. They are making it look like they are considering many applicants, but they've already made up their mind a long time ago.
